This past weekend, after seeing the promo for a website www.tolerance.org for about the 15th time, I decided to take a look. I didn't do it because of the angry scowling brats on the commercial telling me I had to. I didn't do it because I think I need to be more "tolerant." And I sure as hell didn't do it because horse-faced "singer" Alanis Morisette told me to.
No, I did it because the commercial was shown at a time when my children were watching TV, and the ad is clearly targeted towards kids.
The website is a project of the Southern Poverty Law Center. The SPLC is a "civil rights" legal center dedicated to "racial justice." Sounds good enough, but let's take a closer look.
On the site you have the opportunity to take several tests (which will show you once and for all what a piece of shit you are). The tests (which are more like "mind control" than objective fact-finding) are based upon the false assumption that it is automatically bad to have a negative gut reaction to a certain type of person or group. Oddly enough, I didn't see a test for people boarding airplanes to take which showed several bearded or burquad members of the "religion of peace." Because having a negative reaction to these types today is almost universal (not to mention a natural instinctive response to world events - not something we should really try to eliminate).
Most importantly, the tests are a scam. They involve using your left and right hands to press keys NOT to test your "true" gut reaction, but to respond like a Pavlov dog to their intructions. The first half of the test tells you to push the left button for "white" or for words which are considered "positive" (like "joy," "love," "happy," etc.), and the left key for pictures of "black" people or for words which are "negative" (like "sad," "failure," or "angry"). After a few rounds of this, you are supposed to then REVERSE the keys you push for positive and negative words. What's the result? Predicatbly, since you've become "trained" to push the RIGHT button for "good," and the "left" for bad, you invariablly end up associating "negative" for black. This is like that annoying kid in jr. high who said "say 'pots' ten times real fast." After you say it, he then blurts out "What do you do when you get to a green light?" Your response is then either "stop," or "sto..... I mean GO!" Yep. Complete crap.
The site also lists several "hate groups" across the country. They actually do an admirable job of documenting and tracking white supremist groups, neo-Nazis, and religious extremists. They even throw in the Nation of Islam (just to show us they're "unbiased"). However, hardly a word is mentioned about the various Islamist groups living in this country, calling for our overthrow. Apparently declaring a 'jihad' against all non-believers isn't "hateful" enough.
Several 'hate songs' are also listed. Predictably, they say nothing about Snoop Dogg or other rap artists degrading women as "bitches and hos." The site reveals its true ideology in talking about so-called "transgenders" every three sentences. Funny. I was under the impression that the Left thinks that gender roles are artificial. If gender roles are merely something invented by society, then how can a man claim to be a "woman trapped in a man's body?" The whole transgender movement is bullshit. I'm fluent in an Asian languange, and many Asians have told me I "think like an Asian." Perhaps I'm trans-racial. Maybe I should demand my employer pay for "racial reassignment surgery."
Bottom line: Tolerance.org isn't very tolerant (of anyone who doesn't embrace their world view). Perhaps someone should start a website which tests a Marxist, Maoist hippy's reactions to photos of Christians, Bush, Conservative Blacks, or Ariel Sharon. Either that or they could follow this really radical suggestion: Stop preaching to the rest of the world about how they have to accept your leftist political agenda (using the Trojan Horse argument of "tolerance").
